Head of Department of Architecture Design and Theory at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, titular professor since 2014, vice-president and general designer of the original architecture studio Kuryłowicz & Associates, chairwoman of the Board of the Stefan Kuryłowicz Foundation. Winner of the SARP Bene Merentibus 2015 medal and the golden SARP 2017 badge. SARP judge, juror in national and international architectural competitions, Chairman of the Coordination Team of Competition Judges SARP 2015-2019. ACE expert on Universal Design in 2005-2008. Consultant of the University of Warsaw on Universal Design in 1996-2012. Co-author (with Stefan Kuryłowicz) of the book “Passion and Pragmatism. Man, Architecture, Freedom”. (2010) and many other publications in magazines and materials of thematic conferences in which she participated as a speaker and/or panelist. Reviewer of doctoral and post-doctoral theses of the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University in Gdańsk, Cracow, Gliwice, Wrocław, Warsaw. In the studio managed by her since 2011, Kuryłowicz & Associates sp. z o.o., she has created such projects as, among others: Ludna-Wilanowska housing estate with a service pavilion (2017), The Tides building (2017), Q22 skyscraper in Warsaw (2016), Silesia Star office building (Katowice, 2016), National Forum of Music in Wrocław (2015), Galeria Warmińska in Olsztyn (2014), City Stadium in Białystok (2014), housing complex and Powiśle Park office building (2013), Wilanów Town Hall (2014), Museum of the History of Polish Jews (general designer: Rainer Mahlamaki) (2013), Nowy Plac Unii in Warsaw (2013), the building of Language Departments of the University of Warsaw at ul. Cédric Anbergen


Business Developer, BSolutions. CAP Construction

Cédric has set up a BIM and Sustainability department at BSolutions. He studied energy engineering in Brussels and has been connected with building industry for more than 20 years working with contractors in Belgium, school’s building construction in Africa and within engineering office BSolutions for seven years. Continuously expanding his knowledge, he completed, among others, postgraduate studies in Passive Buildings, Energy optimization and BREEAM environmental certification.

He collaborated to the implementation of BIM tools in order to integrate stability, MEP, sustainable development, health & security within engineering department at BSolutions as well as the development of BIM solutions with public authorities to develop Belgian National laws. He has initiated an international research collaboration with the University of Liège of a PhD thesis on BIM & Sustainability within BSolutions and is expert for the Green Building Awards committee.

Ewelina Jaskulska



Ewelina graduated from The Cracow University of Technology in 2003 (diploma with honors). She is an architect with years of experience gained through cooperation with well-known architecture companies. She took part in the implementation of many prestigious investments in Poland and around the world. She participated in execution design of high rise building in Warsaw Rondo1, and high rise building in Russia. She was the key project manager for the construction of Gdańsk Stadium, built for EURO 2012. Since 2014 she has been running her own design and research studio ARTECTONICA.

She is a winner of many international competitions. In 2019 she was on “40 under 40” list – the next generation of 40 most promising and emerging design talents in Europe, who will impact future living and working environments. She is co-initiator of the research project “Architektoniczki” run by Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation, analysing the influence of women on architecture and space. She is a co-author of “Where is Tiffany?” project that was selected to be displayed among the best works at the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial. She is also a co-author of “Dominic’s House” – the project that has received Honourable Mention at the international competition that was held to celebrate the 100 Years of Bauhaus. Her “Local House Project” was the winner of the World Architecture Community Awards. Her projects were displayed at many exhibitions in Chicago, London, Munich, Weimar, Athens, Paris, and Warsaw.

Omenaa Mensah


TV journalist, businesswoman, founder and President of Omenaa Foundation

Omenaa is one of the most charismatic TV presenters and journalists. She cooperates with TVN, TVN24 and TTV stations, as well as DOMO+, where she co-created the programme “Houses of Stars” and is currently preparing a new programme about the most luxurious homes in Poland.

She is also a businesswoman, a PhD student at the Warsaw School of Economics, expert in self-presentation and founder and President of the Omenaa Foundation, in which she implements projects related to tolerance and education. The most important initiative of the foundation is to build a school in Tema (Ghana) for children living on streets, whose biggest dream is to get an education in order to achieve independence and to be able to enter into adult life with dignity. Funding for the school construction is raised by organizing various charity events, to which the stars of both the blogosphere and the traditional media are invited, intelligently using the synergy of these two worlds. Currently, the Foundation is preparing to produce and stage a charity spectacle on the subject of tolerance entitled “I see black”. The author of the play is Marcin Szczygielski, who created it for Omenaa Foundation. The performance will be directed by Olaf Lubaszenko.

Grzegorz Banakiewicz

Sales and Development Manager, APA Group

A graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology / Machine Design and Operation. From the beginning professionally associated with manufacturing processes, mostly in automotive, machine building and process automation. Currently as a Sales and Development Manager he works in the new technology department in the APA Group.

Continuously since 2005 cooperates as a consultant with the Polish Automotive Chamber. In the years 2013-2018 he worked as a Development Manager and Partner Projects at Balluff, a global automation systems manufacturer.  In 2001-2012, he worked as an Expert at the Wrocław Center for Technology Transfer, in a technology transfer network and business support.

He also completed courses in Negotiations in Technology Transfer (UNIDO Certificate, ATT, ICS – 2002), School of Technology Transfer (Certification of the Technical University of Vienna and DG Enterprise and Industry – 2004) and Sales Excellence by Gustaw Kaser Training Intermational – in 2016.

Dorota Bartosz, Ph.D.

Expert of projects Smarter Finance for Families and Build Upon, Polish Green Building Council PLGBC

Dorota has over 20 years of didactic and scientific-research experience gained at the Silesian University of Technology in the Department of Heating, Ventilation and Dust Technology. Didactically connected with the subject of thermal protection of buildings, ventilation and air conditioning systems, heat transfer, heating processes and energy diagnostics in construction. Lecturer of several dozen editions of postgraduate studies “Energy auditing in construction for the needs of thermomodernisation and energy assessment of buildings”. As part of her scientific work, she carried out research projects using dynamic modeling of thermal processes and real air flows in buildings. Author of several dozen scientific publications. Contractor of the strategic project “Integrated system of reducing the energy consumption of buildings”, in which she was an author of the methodology for determining energy performance based on short-term in-situ measurements. Energy auditor in the field of residential and public buildings. Member of the Association of Energy Auditors. Expert in the correct division of heating costs in multi-family buildings and their correct energy diagnostics. Expert of international projects Smarter Finance for Families and Build Upon, carried out in the Polish Association of Ecological Construction PLGBC.

Catriona Brady

Director of Better Places for People, World Green Building Council

Catriona Brady is Head of WorldGBC’s Better Places for People campaign. Better Places for People is the one of the global projects at the World Green Building Council, which exists to accelerate a sustainable built environment by proving and supporting its benefits for people, particularly in relation to health and wellbeing. The project has over 30 Green Building Councils from around the world, with Polish Green Building Council holding an integral position on the Steering Committee. We work towards our project goals by promoting awareness and understanding of different human-centric benefits of green buildings and communities, such as demonstrating a business case through improved human health, highlighting benefits for the global citizen, or promoting sustainability in political advocacy through health-focused messaging. Working in partnership is very important for this project, so we’re delighted to be discussing our partnership with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition on the BreatheLife2030 campaign, which will be the key topic of Catriona’s presentation at PLGBC Symposium.

Hubert Bukowski

Research Manager, Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development

Research Manager at the Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development. Previously, he was a long-term employee of the Economic Institute of the National Bank of Poland, where he dealt with econometric projections and evaluation of the effects of regulation. Author of publications and reports based on economic and econometric analysis in the field of implementation of circular economy, environmental protection, macroeconomic effects of expenditures on research and development and endogenous models of economic growth. Involved in the creation of recommendations for regulations and standards that would favour the implementation of innovative solutions in Poland in order to obtain simultaneous economic, social and environmental benefits.

Olivier Durix

General Director, Bouygues Immobilier Polska

Olivier obtained a diploma in law at the University of Montpellier; he started his career in England as a commercial and financial advisor in the field of real estate. He joined the Bouygues Immobilier Group in 2001 as a Project Manager, then he held the position of Director of the Agency in Toulon (department of Var) and Director of the Côte d’Azur region in Nice. In 2015, he assumed the position of General Director of Bouygues Immobilier Morocco in Casablanca, and then, in 2017, he became the Director of Bouygues Immobilier Polska with headquarters in Warsaw. Olivier is a member of the Royal Institution of Charter Surveyor, lecturer at postgraduate studies at the University of Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier, as well as, since 2001, a councilor in Baillargues (department of Hérault).

Beata Dziedzic

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, 4Nature System Wertykalni

Leader of innovation, who for over 10 years has been successfully promoting the trend of biophilic design and human space design, supporting the corporate culture by introducing green solutions to offices, including vertical gardens. She manages the product and service development in the R&D team of 4Nature System Wertykalni company, which in 2018 was awarded the Good Design Award 2018. Graduate of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW). Since 2018, she has been active in PLGBC structures, promoting green building solutions, including the “Healthy Green Offices” working group. She is involved in projects that affect happiness, health and a positive working environment. In 2019, together with PLGBC and the Silesian University of Technology, she published a report “On the positive impact of vegetation on Polish employees”. She implemented several dozen projects, gradually expanding the scope of her activities in the EU.

Wioletta Fabrycka

Expert in green building, circular economy and CSR

A philologist by education, a commercial manager by choice, marketing manager, project manager, development director, client relations manager in companies related to the broadly understood construction industry. Working in organizations of various scope of activity allowed Wioletta to get to know the whole investment process in practice. Author of many articles and presentations, panelist and moderator of industry conferences. She promotes CSR principles and objectives of sustainable construction and closed-loop economy. She has been sharing her theoretical knowledge and experience for many years with full-time students (“Construction in practice” series) and postgraduate students (“Management in Construction”) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology and postgraduate “CSR. Sustainable development objectives in the company strategy” at the Kozminski University in Warsaw. Member of the Dean’s Advisor Team at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology for the term 2016-2020. Member of the Polish Association of Construction Managers (PSMB). Coach of training courses for the construction and real estate industries, organization of industry events and advisory services in the areas of business development, PR, marketing and CSR on the construction market.

Dr Shamir Ghumra

Director of BREEAM, BRE Global

Dr Shamir Ghumra joined BRE in 2015 as an Associate Director for Responsible Sourcing before moving to the Centre of Sustainable Products. As the Director of Sustainable Products, he has a strong background in ethical construction, leading on the development of BRE Global’s Ethical Labour Standard BES 6002 as a way for organisations to evaluate and eradicate modern slavery from their supply chains. Prior to joining BRE Shamir was Principal Consultant at Responsible Solutions and Head of Sustainability at Aggregate Industries. He is also a former board member and co-founder of the Supply Chain Sustainability School and a Fellow of Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

As Director for BREEAM he is responsible for the BREEAM family of schemes including BREEAM New Construction, Refurbishment, CEEQUAL and the Home Quality Mark in all global markets. During his time as Director, CEEQUAL have launched Version 6 which combines the technical content of the CEEQUAL and BREEAM Infrastructure methodologies and builds upon the well proven processes of the CEEQUAL approach to assessment, and adapted the BREEAM International New Construction standard to streamline the pathway to certification for projects located in the United States.

Jean-Marie Hauglustaine

Université de Liège (Belgium). CAP Construction

Jean-Marie Hauglustaine combines professional sides of architect project author, scientific researcher and university professor of construction techniques leading to excellent energy and environmental performances of buildings, as well new built as renovated ones. His first career step was to be a practitioner architect, author of 200 projects of new or refurbished buildings (houses, schools, offices, etc.). He applied this practical experience to his PhD dissertation, involved to the optimization of the envelope from energy and cost points of view, at the preliminary steps of the project.

Jean-Marie is now professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Management, in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Liège, in Belgium. His research team EnergySuD (for Energy and Sustainable Development) is writing books and creating softwares to help building designers to integrate energy and environmental objectives in their design process. It also supports the energy Walloon administration in the implementation of European directives related to energy performance of buildings, into Walloon decrees.

Petran van Heel

Sector Banker Construction, ABN AMRO

Petran works as a sector banker Construction at ABN AMRO. In this role, he follows the most important trends in the construction sector and has a continuous dialogue with partners, prospects and other stakeholders. After completing the Delft University of Technology and the Rotterdam School of Management, Petran gained extensive national and international experience on both the building and the financial side. After his start as a real estate developer at Royal BAM Group, he continued to work for BAM in London with a focus on project financing. Back in the Netherlands he has used his combined experience within BAM PPP. Subsequently, Petran made the move towards real estate development at Rabo Real Estate Group (MAB). He worked on several large-scale urban (transformation) projects in both acquisition and concept development and realisation.

Alan Jackson

Alan is now working internationally to educate and demonstrate the positive impact of intelligent lighting solutions and interoperable building services on wellbeing and building efficiencies, and to broaden the understanding and accelerate the uptake of Intelligent Lighting in buildings.

Maciej Kiepal

Area Sales Manager Poland, Armstrong Building Products

Graduate of the Faculty of Wood Technology at Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW). For more than 20 years in the construction industry. For a dozen years working in the Armstrong company, responsible for the key accounts service. For the last four years Maciej has been dealing with the building of the team of Commercial and Technical Advisers. Maciej has been working also as a Project Manager for 2 years, being involved in introduction and realization of all issues connected with ecology and support of sustainable buildings with the products and services of Armstrong. He has been coordinating works related to the realization of the ceiling recycling, the first one in Poland, as well as the process of ecological buildings certification, among other ecological issues.

Maciej familiarized himself with the specificity of the investments market from different perspective. Maciej has been working with the biggest developers in the office and retail markets, architecture studios and general contractors.

Alicja Kuczera

CEO, Polish Green Building Council PLGBC. Regional Chair, WorldGBC’s Europe Regional Network

A graduate of the International Relations faculty at Warsaw University and Executive MBA at Coventry University, Alicja has over 15 years of business-related experience, and has been responsible for high-value international projects, dealing with suppliers and customers from different continents. Prior to joining Polish Green Building Council, she worked as a trade director in Fortress S.A. company and was a project manager in Erican Group in Malaysia. Sustainability has always been in the field of her interest. She was a leader of a translation project of Jonathan T. Scott’s book The Sustainable Business. As the CEO of Polish Green Building Council, Alicja promotes the business case for green building and is especially interested in two areas: circular buildings and how buildings influence health, wellbeing and productivity of their occupants. Alicja is also the author of numerous reports and publications on green building and regularly speaks at various conferences and events organised in Poland and abroad.
In her personal life, Alicja is a happy mum, keen on travelling (has visited 76 out of 196 yet-to see countries) and adores living a healthy and eco lifestyle.

Andrzej Losor

Marketing and Communication Director, Górażdże Group

Andrzej Losor has been with Górażdże Group for over 15 years. He started his professional career in sales structures, holding, inter alia, the position of sales area manager. In 2003-2008 he was a sales consultant as a HeidelbergCement Group’s representative in Ukraine, being responsible for the construction of the sales team and sales processes. He played a similar role in 2011-2012 in Kazakhstan. Since 2013, he has been managing the Marketing and Communication Department of Górażdże Group, also heading as the vice-chairman of the Górażdże Foundation – Active in the Region. Bartosz Lukas

Regional Manager, DEKRA Polska Sp. z o.o.

Graduate of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology and the Faculty of Management at the College of Entrepreneurship and Management in Lodz. For over 10 years working in an international environment, he successfully managed the creation of large development projects for retail. He put great emphasis on ecological aspects during all project implementation. He managed the shopping centre project, which was one of the first to obtain a BREEAM certificate at the design and construction stage. M. Christophe Nihon

Christophe graduated as Civil Engineer at Université de Liège (Belgium). After 15 years as B2B real estate broker with King Sturge and DTZ, he decided to create his own company ImmoQuest. Enthousiastic and constantly looking for new challenges, he created several companies combining real estate development, sustainability and societal projects always with silver economy thoughts.

Christophe and his wife Monique are now developing “Le Jardin des Paraboles”, a complete local Smart Life Eco Village situated in Wallonia, at the former 50 ha land site of the Belgian Satellite Ground Station RTT Lessive. This highly unusual real estate project used to connect communication between Belgium and the US and India, but had fallen into disuse. Christophe & Monique have deposit the building permit not long ago to create a multigenerational village offering a range of community care and preventive safety services allowing its eldery residents to enjoy an independent life for as long as possible. Two years ago, they met Michel Poulain, co-founder of the World Wide Blue Zone Project. Together they expect to create the first Living Blue Zone in Belgium at Le Jardin des Paraboles.

Joanna Plaisant

During her stay in Germany she cooperated with the European Commission in the citizens advising department.

Joanna started her career working abroad for a Greek company taking care of export toward several European countries. Back to Poland, she joined an international real estate company. After accomplishing several courses in the USA and Europe, her role as a development manager included training and coaching local real estate professionals. In a short time she became a Regional Director responsible for development of local branches of the company. Long-time lecturer in the Environmental Management programme (title of the course: Sustainable Buildings: Design, Construction and Operations) at Harvard University, Cambridge USA, currently the lecturer in the study “Architecture and Sustainable Construction” at the Cracow University of Technology.

Adam Targowski

Sustainable Development Manager, Skanska Commercial Development Europe

Adam Targowski is the manager for sustainable development in Skanska Commercial Development Europe – an office company implementing investments in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. The team he manages is responsible for setting sustainable development goals for projects, as well as certification of Skanska Group office buildings in this part of Europe and residential investments in Poland. His tasks include support for the project team in issues related to Health & Wellbeing, consisting in creating healthy and comfortable office space, as well as shaping public space in accordance with the idea of placemaking – in such a way that they are friendly to people and open to local communities. Adam’s team works with tenants to raise awareness of the effective use of office space and new technologies.

Adam Targowski joined Skanska in 2013 as Project Leader. His experience is related to the cooperation with Go4Energy in providing consulting and training services in the field of shaping sustainable development strategies, rational energy management and project certification. On January 1, 2016 he took the position of the manager for sustainable development at Skanska Commercial Development Europe. He is also an active member of organizations promoting sustainable construction in the CEE region: RICS, Urban Land Institute and the Polish Green Building Council PLGBC, where he is a Member of the Board.

Founder and originator, President of the Management Board and Managing Director, Optimo Light

Graduate of the Silesian University of Technology, Faculty of Transport and Materials Engineering. He has 25 years of experience in managing both corporate and newly established entities. Creativity, passion and experience in electronic technology have resulted in several patent applications granted by him. His experience in the field of production implementation, light technology and data processing allowed to create Optimo Light, which is a production subject of intelligent luminaires with its own solution based on remote measurement of lux. Light, Human Light Solutions and neural networks are the future in which Michał has a plan to play a dominant role in international markets. The process of synergy of the intelligent luminaire with BMS is already being implemented in the latest projects of the company. He played a key role in the creation of departments/branches/companies in ESAB Polska, Johnson Controls International, Business of New Technology, Control Project and Optimo Light.

Privately: Dad, a music and French film enthusiast (music school graduate), active amateur of mountain bikes and tennis.

Radio & TV Presenter

For 9 years she has been permanently connected with radio. She accompanies listeners all over Poland between 9:00 and 15:00 every day, leading the program “Anything For Dinner” at RMF MAXXX. Previously, she ran a film magazine and a daily morning programme in Radio Planeta. She also co-created, produced and ran cultural and popular science programmes as well as information services for Polish Television and Polsat. Recently, she woke up the viewers of Television One as the host of the programme Dzień dobry Polsko (Good Morning, Poland).
